WW Associates Vice President Turner Perrow appointed to national environmental policy committee

Lynchburg City Councilman Turner Perrow has been appointed to the National League of Cities’ 2014 Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Steering Committee.

The committee takes the lead in developing NLC positions on federal policy issues involving air quality, water quality, energy policy, national wetlands policy, noise control, and solid and hazardous waste man-agement.
 
                    
The NLC is a local government organization representing the interests of some 19,000 cities and towns across the United States.

“As a member of this Committee, I will have direct access to senior policy makers in Washington, D.C., and will have the opportunity to influence policies, such as those pertaining to stormwater regulations, which affect the citizens of Lynchburg,” Perrow said in a written statement.
Perrow, Ward IV representative on council, added his professional background as an engineer made him well suited to weigh in on these technical issues. He currently is serving on the Virginia Municipal League’s Environmental Quality Policy Committee as well.

WW Associates welcomes John Petchul, P.E.

WW Associates is pleased to announce that John Petchul, P.E., has joined WW Associates as a Senior Associate. John earned his Master of Engineering in chemical engineering and Bachelor of Arts in chemistry with distinction at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. He is a Professional Engineer as well as a Virginia Class I Wastewater Operator.

John brings over 30 years of professional experience including 19 years with Greif, Inc. in Amherst as Staff Environmental Engineer. His experience includes managing environmental permitting programs, operating wastewater treatment plants, application development, negotiation, compliance and reporting. Additionally he brings experience as Engineering Manager at the DEQ South Central Regional Office.

John is currently an elected Board Director of the Robert E. Lee Soil and Water Conservation District, former Water Committee Chairman of the Virginia Manufacturers Association, as well as a member and Past President of the Virginia Water Environment Association.
